This Disney theme park is an extension of the Disneyland park that is directly across the street. It includes five themed areas, Sunshine Plaza, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, The Golden State, A Bug's Land and Paradise Pier, which are each designed to represent specific areas in California. The original intention of the expansion was to mimic Disney's Epcot Center in Florida, but plans for that project fell through, and the California Adventure park idea was born.

The park offers a variety of Disney-themed attractions, suitable for all ages and members of the family. There are several thrill rides including California Screamin' and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Discovery attractions are available to those families wishing to make the trip educational and fun, and include the Mission Tortilla Factory, and Bountiful Valley Farm.  There are a number of amusements geared toward smaller children including Francis' Ladybug Boogie, and the Princess Dot Puddle Park.

Disneys California Adventure also features a variety of live entertainment including Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular, "The Magic of Brother Bear" Totem Ceremony, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year - Right Here! Right Now! On the park's website, the shows are divided into categories so visitors will know what shows are new and what shows are all time favorites.

There are a number of dining options, including a few that offer wine tastings, in the spirit of California's Napa Valley, for the adults. As the day draws to a close, be sure to visit the shops and take home a few memorable souvenirs. Disneys California Adventure features season passes at a discount rate, and special events such as free admission on your birthday. In the spirit of the Disney resorts, California Adventure is a great place for the entire family!
